On May 2, the president, Priscilla Dawson, welcomed 37 members and one visitor to the meeting.

In a report on the annual council meeting, information was given on the new national membership magazine, which will be published from January 2007. The speaker, Don Maclean, had not only given an interesting talk but had also reduced his audience to tears of laughter. Reports were also read on the resolutions proposed for action by NFWI during 2006 and unanimous votes received in favour of both.

A bring and buy table proved popular as did the displays about various forthcoming outings. A ploughman's supper prepared by Sally Dalley, Diane Gee and Ann Pickford was enjoyed by everyone and this was followed by several games of bingo. The competition for a posy in a teacup was won by Ros Partis and the raffle by Phil Jackson.

The next meeting will be held on June 6 at 7.30 pm when the speaker will be Pat Wills Johnson on T'ai Chi. Visitors and new members welcome.
