Police are appealing for information after reports of a sexual assault on a woman in St Ives at the weekend.

Officers were called at 4.24am on Saturday (November 14) after reports of a sexual assault in The Crescent.

A spokesman for Cambridgeshire police said: “The assault, on a woman in her 40s, took place at about 4am. It is reported that the assault involved a group of about five young men.”

The spokesman said that a police scene was put up in the wake of the incident and was still in place as of Tuesday.
