A WOMAN was punched in the face as she fought off a handbag snatcher in St Neots.
A WOMAN was punched in the face as she fought off a handbag snatcher in St Neots.
The 20-year-old victim was walking down an alleyway between Queens Gardens and Regent Close at 9.30pm on Wednesday (December 22) when a man grabbed her handbag.
The victim refused to let go of her bag and screamed, and the man punched her in the face before running off. The bag was damaged during the struggle.
The woman suffered minor injuries in the incident.

The offender is described as 6ft to 6ft 4in, and was wearing a black woollen hat, a puffer jacket and trousers. He was seen smoking a cigarette in Queens Gardens before the incident.
Detective Constable Becky Mainwood, investigating, said: “This was a terrifying experience for the victim who showed great bravery to fight off the attacker.
