A WOMAN escaped serious injuries when her car flipped onto its roof in a crash near Huntingdon today (Friday).

The woman, in her 60s, was trapped in the car after the incident on the B1089 towards Woodhurst, about 100 yards from the A141 junction, at 9.50am.

Firefighters from Huntingdon and Ramsey used specialist cutting equipment to free the woman before she was assessed by Magpas Helimedix.

The woman was taken Hinchingbrooke Hospital for further assessment.

The crews were back at base by 11.30am.
