A woman in her 30s was being driven to Hinchingbrooke Hospital by her husband after she went started contractions. As they were driving along the A141 towards Huntingdon, the labour progressed faster than expected and the husband was forced to pull over in a lay-by. At 6.13pm, Magpas Helimedix Dr Alex Cross, paramedic Simon Standen and Dr Vijay Vijatasankar were sent the 100m to its access gate and helped deliver the baby in the back of an ambulance. A Magpas spokesman said: Everything went well and shortly afterwards the new mum, dad and baby girl, from Manea, were accompanied to Hinchingbrooke Hospital. The Helimedix would especially like to thank the Ambulance paramedics and a midwife from Hinchingbrooke for their excellent team work.
