A corporate troubleshooter (Kate Mara) is summoned to an isolated, top-secret scientific facility to investigate a most unusual problem.
Under its chief scientific officer (Toby Jones), the lab has succeeded in creating an aritificial life form called Morgan (Anya Taylor-Joy). Within a month, she was walking and talking and after six months, she was completely self-sustaining, her extraordinary abilities exceeding the scientists’ wildest expectations. But now a terrifying accident has occurred and a decision has to be made: should Morgan be terminated, ending a ground-breaking and potentially lucrative project? Or does she qualify as human, with rights that must be respected?
