We have ten family tickets to give away to the Cambridgeshire County Show

After the huge success of the 2011 Show, the organisers of the Cambridgeshire County Show are gearing up for the 14th Show, being held on Sunday, 10th June 2012 at Wimpole Home Farm, Arrington, near Royston. The 14th Show is expected to be bigger and better than ever, with something to offer both town and country visitors alike.

With its roots firmly in agriculture, the aim of the Show is to create a traditional County Show that promotes British food and farming, provides local Young Farmers with a display area for their annual competitions and offers a real family day out, with something for everyone.

The Show will feature a host of traditional crafts, such as thatching and wood turning and local livestock will also be on show. Visitors will have the opportunity to demonstrate their own dogs’ skills in the terrier racing in the main ring and may bring their own dogs, of any breed, to compete. This year the Sheep Show will also be in action on the showground and there will be music from the City of Cambridge Brass Band.

There will be a fantastic range of trade stands including support from local agricultural machinery dealers and land agents. There will be a variety of other exhibitors including garden furniture, country clothing and plants. The Craft Marquee will be bursting with numerous ideas for those special occasions.

The ever expanding Food Hall and numerous catering stalls will allow visitors to experience ‘British Food and Farming at its Best’ as local producers will be tempting visitors with everything from hog roasts to homemade chocolate cake made with real beetroot!!

The Cambridgeshire Young Farmers will be in action at the Show as they compete in their annual competitions, including metalwork, woodwork, cookery and flower arranging, with a number of interesting YFC challenges taking place around the showground and in the Main Ring.

The Main Ring itself has an excellent programme of activities including, the Welsh Axemen. There will also be a sheepdog demonstration from Mr David Seamark and a parade of vintage machinery.

With the added attraction of a traditional fairground, it is a real country day out for everyone.
