Paula Lawrence, a volunteer for the PDSA, came to talk about the veterinary charity and how it cares for sick and injured animals of needy people by providing free services funded by public support. It was founded in 1917 by Maria Dickens, and now has 46 hospitals in many major cities. Members heard several stories of animals which had been treated and owed their lives to the PDSA. Diane Roberts gave a vote of thanks. The competition was won by Eveyln Walker who also won flower of the month. The next meeting is on September 19 when Peter Walker will show films of his Antipodean adventure. Local History Society: The September meeting will be a talk by John Shaw, when the topic will be St Neots Cattle and Produce Markets. The meeting will take place on Friday at 7.30pm in the school hall at Eynesbury C of E School, Montague Street. All are welcome to attend. Annual membership is \u00A310 per individual.
