THE long list for the 2012 Hunts Post Food and Drink Awards has already attracted some of the top venues in the district, but there’s still time to put forward your nomination.
Hunts Post readers have nominated – among others – the Eccentric Gentleman’s Tea Room at Old Hurst, the Cock at Hemingford Grey, Cinta in Godmanchester, the Taproom in St Ives and the Three Jolly Butchers at Wyton as some of the places they like to eat.
Then there are the places we like to get takeaways, such as the Welcome Chinese restaurant in St Ives and Auntie’s in St Neots.
And one of the businesses that keeps cropping up as one of the top places to buy fresh produce is Johnsons of Old Hurst.
But there are others, so we want to hear your favourites.
All of the nominated businesses could be in line for one of six awards – Restaurant of the Year, Best Independent Retailer (sponsored by the Federation of Small Businesses), Best Local Product, Best Takeaway Restaurant and there are now two awards for pubs – Dining Pub of the Year and Community Pub of the Year.
