ARSONISTS have struck for the second time in three days at St Neots Community College.

One crew from St Neots was called to extinguish a wheelie bin fire in a field at the back of the college at 10.10pm last night (Thursday).

A similar incident occurred in the same field on Tuesday evening, and firefighters have warned residents of nearby Flawn Way to secure their wheelie bins, to prevent them being dragged to the field and set alight.

The crew extinguished the fire using one hose reel and returned to their station by 11.05pm.

Jon Paul Jones, watch manager at St Neots fire station, said: "This is the second time this week that we have been called to this field to put out a wheelie bin that has been dragged from Flawn Way and set on fire.

"The previous occasion was on Tuesday night.

"We are urging residents in the Flawn Way area to be aware that this is happening and to, if possible, ensure that their wheelie bins are out of sight when they are not being collected."
