Rangers at Hinchingbrooke Country Park are looking to recruit maintenance volunteers to help look after a set of specially adapted bikes.
The bikes enable those who are less mobile to get around the 170 acres of open grassland, meadows, woodlands and lakes at the park, in Huntingdon.
As the bikes continue to grow in popularity so does the need for regular, on-going maintenance. The maintenance volunteer roles would ideally suit any keen cyclist who is practically minded as it will require undertaking basic visual checks, repairing minor faults such as punctures, tightening loose nuts and bolts, oiling and greasing chains.
Councillor Robin Carter, executive councillor for operations and environment, said: “This is an exciting new volunteer opportunity that will directly benefit the local community. By volunteering to maintain the bikes you help to ensure the outdoors continues to be accessible to everyone in a fun and healthy way.”
