Children and adults from Molesworth joined together for the annual clean up and litter pick of the village and surrounding area.
A particular focus was put on the road that approaches the village, which, residents said, was laden with bottles, cans, car tyres and other household rubbish.
Volunteers walked along verges for more than two hours on March 30 and managed to fill a trailer that accompanied the work force.
Rosy Foulds, a volunteer, said: “The children all had hi-vis clothing and all took pride in cleaning up the area, it was a great opportunity for both learning, helping the environment and cultivating community spirit.
“Many thanks to the hard work and commitment of all those who took part and the eagerly received reward of home made hot cross buns and drinks, provided by a kind resident at the end of the work. It certainly revived us all.”
