More than 1,000 people came together in Huntingdon to share in fun and food at the annual Unity in the Community.

It was the eighth time the multi-cultural event had been held and was split between the Medway and St Barnabus centres.

Families were entertained by more than 40 exhibitors, workshops and demonstrations, including a magic show.

There was also a food festival, where cuisine from around the globe was served up in the St Barnabus Centre.

Unity in the Community chairman, Councillor Patrick Kadewere, said the day was full of community spirit, and joy. He thanked the sponsors and gave a special mention to the volunteers who helped out. “They were from Huntingdon Youth Centre and they utterly impressed me,” he added.

He added: “The Unity in the Community 2015 is predicted to be bigger with more children’s activities and focusing on education, employment and family reunion.” INFORMATION: To get involved, email unityinthecommunity@gmail.com or call 07546 432183.
