The Hub, in Samuel Jones Crescent, was built by Taylor Wimpey and Kier Homes under a planning agreement linked to a housing development. It contains a multi-functional room with kitchen area, some small meeting spaces, and changing rooms linked to the new sports pitch, which will open later this year. People in the community will now manage the building, following a handover ceremony hosted by Huntingdonshire District Council. Councillor Angie Dickinson, member for community resilience, wellbeing and regulatory services, said: I am really pleased to be able to hand over this wonderful building. It is a great example of the councils commitment to work with developers and local groups to make sure that our communities have first class facilities. Accepting the building, Robert Webster, a trustee of The Hub charity, said: This is a great day for Little Paxton. We hope that people from every part of our community will be able to come in and make use of this building, for sports, projects and using the meeting spaces. Longer term, it is this wide use that will make sure that the facilities are sustainable and will be open all for a long time.
