Organisers, Brampton Events Group believe it was the first lights switch-on in the village for 45 years and the event didnt disappoint as hundreds of people flocked to the village green to enjoy the festive atmosphere. The Womens Institute, 1st Brampton Brownies, Brampton Village Primary School, and Days Butchers were all in attendance, adding a little sparkle to the event. Vhari Russell, a member of Brampton Events Group, said: We were blow away by the number of people who attended, it was absolutely magical and we thoroughly enjoyed seeing everyones happy faces. Representatives from Tesco, the Rotary Club of Huntingdon Cromwell, and the Wyton and Brampton military wives choir were also invited down to the switch-on, with Father Christmas stopping by ahead of his big day. With help from local business, the events group was able to raise about £4,500, which paid for nine trees to be lit up for the festive period. The event was supported by the A14 Cambridge to Huntingdon integrated delivery team, which helped to put up the lights.
