Eileen Herd-Harbert, manager of the Spar Store in Kings Hedges, St Ives, has previously raised thousands of pounds for charity through car washes and fun runs, so when she was approached by charity Wish Em Well to raise money for Rosies Appeal she didnt hesitate. Four-year-old Rosie has low grade glioma, a tumour behind her eyes that affects her vision. She has already completed two courses of chemotherapy which did not work and charity Wish Em Well are now aiming to raise £12,500 for her to travel to America for Radiotherapy. Mrs Herd-Harbert, 40, was more than happy to help. She said: When we were asked to raise money we didnt hesitate, we just said yes and we asked the rest of the parade of shops to get involved which they did. Im finding it a bit strange being bald and Ive had a few pranks played on me my husband attached Velcro to my pillow. Mrs Herd-Harbert will be getting her revenge later in the year when two male colleagues will receive a full body wax for the NSPCC.
