Runners, joggers and walkers have been limbering up for this year’s Race For Life in Cambridge at the weekend.

Among them will be a team from Houghton-based self-adhesive manufacturer Le Mark.

Employees Sam Cooke, Lauren Arnold, Hannah Attfield, Leanne Baker, Jenni Kynoch and Shauna Smith, also known as Peas in a Pod, set out to raise £400 but have already amassed more than £1,100 for Cancer Research UK.

They have even made a video of them in training to prepare them for the 5k which sets off from Parker’s Piece on Sunday (July 20).

Meanwhile, pupils from St Ivo are once again to enter and will join design and technology teacher Laura-Jean Brocklehurst, whose mother, Cath, died last year after being diagnosed with cancer.

Miss Brocklehurst was inspired to take part in last year’s event as a tribute to her mum and was joined by a group of pupils and parents.
