The charitys Ramp Up The Red campaign saw its staff and volunteers take part in a number of fundraisers. In Huntingdon, its furniture and electrical store team raised their heart rate with active challenges, including riding the equivalent distance of Huntingdon to The Heart Hospital in Westmoreland Street, London, on an exercise bike about 84 miles. Warehouse assistant Adler Prices pulse would have been racing when he had his legs waxed, raising £60. Together with donations from a cake sale, the branch raised £140. Meanwhile, the team at the other High Street branch wore red pyjamas. They also held their now annual love hearts message campaign, raising £400, beating their previous best. In St Neots, assistant manager Lizzie Shrapnell dressed up as the Queen of Hearts and shoppers were invited to buy cakes, raising £30. Two volunteers at St Ives manned a special stall selling a variety of goods, including cakes, and raised £50. Shoppers were also challenged to guess both the weight of a cake and the name of a teddy. Money raised by Ramp Up The Red will go towards the charitys research into heart conditions.
