Cromwell’s army has been stood down after councillors deferred plans to cut the museum’s funding ... but they may return again.

Members of Lord Robartes Regiment of the Army of Parliament, part of the Sealed Knot re-enactment group, pulled a small cannon the length of the High Street before standing guard at the Cromwell Museum on Saturday.

The event, supported by the Huntingdon Freemen’s Trust and the town council, gave shoppers the chance to ask questions about civil war artillery and how it was used.
