A VIDEO message from Chief Constable Simon Parr launched the force’s Christmas campaign on Saturday.
The video was the first entry on the blog which will be updated with a different crime prevention message every day throughout December.
From advice on personal safety to tips on how to deter burglars and thieves, the Get Closer to Christmas campaign aims to make the festive period a happy time for everyone living in Cambridgeshire.
Using a dedicated webpage, along with social media, the campaign will also be backed up by events across the county during the countdown to Christmas.
It launched at midnight when the blog went live with the video message from the chief constable.
In the video, Mr Parr says: “We don’t want you to be the victim of crime as we get close to Christmas.
“We want you to enjoy the spirit, enjoy the festive fun without somebody ruining it for you.”
