Vandals destroyed goalposts belonging to 10-year-old Samuel Terry overnight last Wednesday.

The plastic posts were on a green near the Brampton Village School pupil’s home in Horseshoes Way.

His dad, Terry, said his son, who plays for Godmanchester Rovers, had been looking forward to practising in his new football boots ahead of the forthcoming season.

“It made my blood boil,” he said. “The goal was a Christmas present. My son was in pieces. He’s absolutely devastated.”
