Emergency services rushed to Spittals Interchange at 6.45pm to reports of a van that had crashed into the central reservation and rolled down the carriageway. The man, in his 30s, suffered serious injuries to his lower arm and severe skin abrasion to his back. The A14 was closed in both directions for the Magpas Helicopter to land on the carriageway. Helimedix Doctor Ali Tompkins and paramedic Adam Carr gave the man pain relief and antibiotics before taking him to Addenbrookes Hospital, Cambridge. Firefighters from Huntingdon and Cambridge attended but were not needed.
