Huntingdon town councillors approved a proposal to restore the Priory Road Cemetery Chapel which is suffering damage to the tower, its external surface drainage works and the porch at a meeting of the finance committee. Peterborough-based firm John Lucas Ltd have been granted the tender for the work, and were due to start work on Monday, June 20. In a report to the council architect Barry le Bailey said the work was essential to stop further damage and for safety reasons. The building is owned by Huntingdon Town Council. Committee chairman Councillor John Skerry said: It is in a sorry state and the architect has reported certain work needs to be carried out as a matter of urgency.
