A 53-YEAR-OLD man has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of a woman in St Ives.
Cambridgeshire police were called to a suspicious death at a property in Gainsborough Drive in the town at 10.30am on Thursday (October 27).
Following a post mortem examination, officers confirmed on Saturday that the case was being treated as murder. The examination concluded that the woman, who has yet to be formally identified, had “died from compression to the neck”.
A man in his 50s, who was found at the same address with abdominal injuries, was being treated at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge.
A police spokesman said inquiries were ongoing.
