A man has died in a car crash near Somersham this morning (Friday).
Roland James Carson, 25, of Augustus Way, Chatteris, was driving a black BMW 320 on the B1050 at 7.15am when it left the road, close to the Chatteris Road junction, overturned and crashed into a telegraph pole and a tree. He died instantly.
London Road is closed in both directions between the Horseley Fen Middle Drove junction in Ferry Hill, Chatteris, and the Station Approach junction, in Somersham.
Traffic Sergeant Chris Clare said: “This is a tragic incident and I’m appealing for people to come forward with information in order for us to establish what exactly happened this morning.”
INFORMATION: Anyone who witnessed the collision or saw the car in the moments leading up to it are asked to call the roads policing unit on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
