Engineers have been working on restoring a phone service to up to 10 homes in Bury after yesterday’s (Thursday) crash.
Two people escaped serious injury when a blue Renault Megane left the road and ended up on its side in a hedge in High Street, Bury, near Bury Stores just after 6.30am. A man in his 20s was treated by paramedics but they did not have to take him to hospital.
A telephone exchange was destroyed in the crash and a number of homes lost their phone service and remain disconnected.
A BT spokesman said: “Engineers have been onsite assessing the damage and impact on services. They are back onsite today (Friday) to start to rebuild the casing for the green cabinet which was destroyed in the incident.
“We have 10 homes which have reported loss of service and we will be working to attempt to restore their services today.”
