Unexpected item in the bagging area: Man leaves severed deer’s head at Tesco self-service check-out till

OFFICERS are investigating the circumstances surrounding an incident in which a severed deer’s head was left at the check-out at a Tesco supermarket.

A man entered the store on Radwinter Road, Saffron Walden, at about 1.15am on June 4 before leaving the deer’s head at one of the self-service check-outs.

The check-out surfaces had to be professionally cleaned at a cost of £300, and police are treating the incident as criminal damage.
