Two Huntingdonshire primary schools have agreed to join forces in a federation.
The governing body of St Helen’s Primary School in Bluntisham, which was rated by Ofsted as “requires improvement”, will work with counterparts at “outstanding” Holywell C of E Primary School to bring standards in line with Holywell.
Previously, the two schools have worked together informally, sharing best practice and specialist resources, but the federation ties them together in a formal agreement.
The schools will retain their identities but will have one headteacher and one governing body with responsibility for both.
On July 14, the new governors will meet when their main task will be to appoint an executive headteacher.
