TWO prison guards were injured during a disturbance at Littlehey Prison in Huntingdon last night.
The guards, believed to be a man and a woman, were both treated at the prison for minor injuries after the incident, which broke out at 5pm at the Youth Offending Unit.
It took four and a half hours, and specialist prison officers in riot gear to resolve the incident.
It is thought trouble broke out after four or five prisoners refused to return to their cells.
A Prison Service spokesman said: “A number of prisoners at HMP Littlehey refused to return to their cells following an incident in which two staff received minor injuries. They received treatment at the prison.
“National resources were immediately deployed and the incident was resolved with little resistance at 9:30pm. There were no injuries to prisoners and no further injuries to staff.
