The two people who were killed in a car crash this morning (Friday) were women and were travelling in rear seats, police have confirmed.
Emergency services including police, the East of England Ambulance Service, and Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue were called to Puddock Road, in Ramsey Forty Foot, at about 7.15am amid reports that a car, a silver Mazda 6, had crashed into a water-filled ditch.
A spokesman for Cambridgeshire police said two men, who were in the front of the car, managed to get out and were taken to Hinchingbrooke Hospital, in Huntingdon, with minor injuries.
Two women, who were in the rear of the vehicle, died. The road was re-opened to traffic at about 1.30pm.
Police have launched an investigation and are asking anyone with information to contact the road policing unit on 101, quoting incident number 70 of Friday.
