A MOTORCYCLIST has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after a crash on the A14 at Fenstanton - one of two crashes that has caused misery to commuters this morning (Wednesday).

One lane of the eastbound carriageway at Junction 27 was blocked after a motorbike collided with a car at 6.25am. The bike rider was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital after suffering serious but not life threatening injuries.

The driver of the car received minor injuries and was taken to Hinchingbrooke Hospital. The road was cleared by 7.40am.

A four-car crash blocking both lanes on the westbound carriageway near Bar Hill at 7.50am added to drivers’ pain. One person suffered minor injuries in the smash.

By 8.17am, one lane had been reopened and an hour later the road was clear but the Highways Agency is warning of 15-minute delays due to the build up of traffic.
