TWO men charged with the attempted robbery of 25,000 from a security guard outside Sainsbury’s in Huntingdon appeared in court this morning (Friday).
Vimal Jadeja and Nathan Murray-Williams, both aged 19, are accused of the attempted robbery which happened in St Germain Way yesterday afternoon.
At a hearing at Huntingdon Magistrates’ Court, their case was sent immediately to the Crown Court at Peterborough, where they will attend a preliminary hearing next Friday (February 4). They made no indication of plea.
Prosecutor John Goodier told the court that the two men, both of Carlton Court, Ilford, attempted to grab a cash box from a security guard delivering to the store at around 1.15pm. When the guard did not release the box, Murray-Williams is alleged to have punched the guard and both men made off with the box.
