EARLY indications in Huntingdonshire's district elections show high turnouts in a number of wards. More than 50 per cent of the electorate turned out in both Brampton and Buckden, while 43.8 per cent voted in The Hemingfords - where bereaved mother Maxine Hay is standing against HDC leader Ian Bates. In Huntingdon North the turnout was 26.1 per cent - fairly typical for the ward. The counting process at the Burgess Hall in St Ives is just getting under way and declarations of results are expected to begin being announced by noon.
