Thirty nine members and guest were present, when Marie Carden (Dogs for the Disabled) came along with Benny to tell us of their work with the charity, which trains and provides dogs for people who cannot do things for themselves. It is a self-supporting charity and welcomes all the help it can get from the public. She brought along three friends with their dogs - Judy and Beau, Andy and Henry, and Hayley and Uska. Henry gave us a demonstration of some of his uses. The trust hopes to train its own dogs, now that its new premises are nearing completion. It has its own breeding programme now, and hopes to breed 30-40 puppies per year. A collection raised £41.50. Many members bought gifts, giving their own donations in addition.
