Tributes have been paid to a man who died in Huntingdon town centre last Wednesday night (March 12).

Stephen Burnett, 48, of Papworth, suffered a heart attack in Newtons Court, at the back of Pizza Town, at about 5pm.

He was pronounced dead at the scene about an hour later.

Alex Akman, owner of Pizza Town and Alex’s Café Restaurant, said Mr Burnett was his most loyal pizza delivery man: “He had worked for us for about 14 years. He is more family than colleague.”

He added: “He was a family man and would do anything for this wife, Helen, and his twin daughters. He was charming and nothing could upset him. He was lovely. Simply, he was a very good friend to me and my brother.

“It has been a massive shock. He was just talking to a friend, then as he turned away he collapsed. It’s been devastating for all of us.”

A spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Service said: “We sent a rapid response car, an ambulance, and Magpas critical care medics in emergency car, arriving on scene in just a few minutes. Crews carried out CPR and advanced life support on the man, but sadly despite the efforts of everyone involved, he was declared dead at the scene.”
