Traffic lights reportedly affected as power cut hits Huntingdon

UK Power Networks is reporting that the power has been cut to homes and businesses in Huntingdon and Godmanchester.

The authority, which manages the electricity network across Cambridgeshire, said that the PE29 post code was affected, with reports of power going down at about 1.15pm.

A spokesman said: “There is currently a power cut in this area. Our engineers are working hard to fix it as quickly as possible. We are sorry for any trouble this may have caused you.”

The authority said it hoped to have power restored to the area by 3.30pm.

There have been reports on Twitter of traffic signals being affected by the cut and road users are being urged to be aware.
