Cambridgeshire County Council’s road safety team were handing out free activity packs to nursery school children in Somerhsam this week.County Councillor Steve Criswell handed out packs to children at Silks Farm Nursery School, in St Ives Road, on Monday.

Children’s Traffic Club activity packs which contain books, DVDs, cards and stickers are given to the children to take home.

The resources have been carefully structured to follow the child’s development, so the simplest messages are introduced in the first pack, then repeated through with different characters, stories, games, songs and activities, and gradually increasing complexity throughout each DVD.

Nurseries and pre schools will also receive a pack to use in support of the Children’s Traffic Club throughout the year.

Sandra Coulson, manager of Silks Farm Nursery School said, “We are so excited to have this opportunity, it is so important that we teach this life time learning from such an early age as it can save lives.”
