HEAVY traffic is building up around Huntingdon this morning (Monday) after a car broke down on the A14.

Officers assisted as the broken down vehicle was moved out of the eastbound carriageway, just past the Godmanchester junction, at 8.36am. Motorists are being delayed for around 10 minutes but normal road conditions are expected at 9.45am.

Earlier this morning a lorry crashed into the central reservation closing the A14.

Cambridgeshire police were called at 2.26am to junction 22, at Brampton and closed one lane in the westbound carriageway at junction 22, at Brampton, while a diesel spill was cleared.

The Highways Agency closed the road between Spittals Interchange and Brampton at 3.06am to repair the central reservation. The road had since reopened.
