A MEMORIAL football tournament is to be held in honour of a young St Ives footballer killed in a car crash last year.
The Harry Williams Memorial Tournament will feature six sides that Harry, 17, had links to during his playing days and will take place at Hemingford Pavilion on Sunday, August 21.
A team of Hemingford veterans and two Hemingford senior teams will join a Hemingford Colts Old Boys team, St Ives Town U18 and a Dan Williams XI that will include Harry’s brother.
Former St Ivo student Harry, of Stirling Road, was killed along with his friend Darryl Townsend on the way back from a football match on December 11 last year when their car crashed into a tree in Elsworth.

Organisers hope that the tournament, which will run from 10.30am until 5pm, will become an annual event and raise funds towards a bench that will be installed at the Pavilion playing fields in Hemingford.
