THE Conservative stranglehold on St Neots Town Council was tightened this morning (Friday) after the party took all seven seats in the Eynesbury ward elections.
Yesterday’s poll had been postponed from May 5 following the death of Conservative candidate Merv Perry, and the count took place at Huntingdonshire District Council’s Pathfinder House offices this morning.
The results mean that the Liberal Democrats, the majority party prior to the elections, lost every seat they contested at the ballot box – with only Carl Jones of the Loves Farm Community Association spoiling the Tory whitewash on election day.
The turnout was 15.09 per cent and the full results are as follows:

Andrew Hansard (C) 560 - elected
Adrian Usher (C) 551 - elected
