Stepping Stones Day Nursery in St Ives has just received an Outstanding Ofsted grading after its recent inspection.

Donnah Moody, owner of the nursery, said: “I’m extremely proud of our achievement. We are so lucky to have such a fabulous team of staff that provide our children with high quality care and enriched experiences”

Ofsted agreed, saying that the nursery staff were “extremely well-trained, confident and capable,” and that the teaching was of such a consistently high-quality the children made “outstanding progress in their learning”.

Donnah added: “The children and parents are put at the centre of everything we do. And myself and my manager Phillipa Arnold strive to constantly move the nursery forwards to create a rich nurturing environment where all children can learn and achieve.”

The nursery, which Ofsted describes as having inspirational leadership and management, also makes special provision for children with special educational needs and disabilities. Ofsted also said that one of the key elements of Stepping Stones’ success is that staff take time to understand the individual needs of all the children in their care. The nursery also makes a special effort to accommodate children where English is not their first language.

Ofsted added: “Children have an excellent time in this warm and friendly nursery” and that “parents are overwhelmingly positive and say their children love attending”.
