The capsule was lowered into a hole at the front of the school next to its nature garden on Wednesday (July 22) by year six pupil Harry. Head teacher Lucy Roberts said: Harry has won the honour to place the time capsule into the whole after winning a competition at the school fete. The student council decided what would be put into the box with a number of objects being talked about over many weeks of deliberation. They are things that represent the school now that hopefully will be opened in 50 years time. The time capsule culminated the schools 50th anniversary celebrations that included a 1960s art project, talks for ex pupils and a 60s themed party with all the children dressing up in groovy outfits. As a part of the commemorations the box of memories will be accompanied by a plaque. On the plaque it will say that the box needs to be opened on the 11th December 2064 which will be the schools 100th anniversary, said Mrs Roberts. The school have thanked Wild Goose Construction for the help they have given in digging the hole for the time capsule.
