THREE Huntingdonshire men have been fined for using an unregistered boat on the River Great Ouse.
The boats of Michael Flemming, of Church Way, Alconbury Weston, Mark Jones, of Castle Hil Court, Huntingdon, and Allan Gough, of Church Street, Buckden, were spotted on the river at Buckden on November 8.
The cases of the three offenders were heard at Peterborough Magistrates’ Court yesterday (March 5). Magistrates were told that navigation fees, ranging from £308 to £788 were avoided as the boats weren’t registered with the Environment Agency.
Flemming was fined £200 and ordered to pay £308 compensation, Jones was also fined £200 and ordered to pay £788 compensation and Gough was fined £100. Gough was not ordered to pay compensation as the vessel was registered after being seen.
