IT WAS A busy night for St Neots Fire crews last night (Tuesday) as they were called out three times in just four hours.

Crews from St Neots and Gamlingay were called to Longstowe Road, Little Gransden at 11.10pm, where a barn caught fire.

The barn was 120 ft by 120 ft and it took two hoses and a jet to calm down the fire. The flames were finally put out by 1am. The fire was ruled as accidental.

Later on at 1.42am, there was a fence fire at Levellers Lane in Eynesbury. The crew arrived at 1.52am and the fire was extinguished by 2am.

An hour later there was a fire in the park on Howitt’s Lane, where a bench was set on fire. The fire was put out by 2.55am and the crew was back at base by 3.20am.

It is believed that both of the fires in Eynesbury were set deliberately.
