Around 6,000 visitors poured through the gates of the camp in Wood Lane, Ramsey, on Saturday and Sunday for the annual 1940s weekend.
Crowds were transported back to the ‘40s with vintage cars, dancing, clothes and hairstyles all on display.
Ramsey 1940s committee vice chairman Jayne Mann said: “The event went very well, we were really lucky with the weather.”
Throughout the weekend there were 395 re-enactors sharing their stories and exhibiting historic pieces of memorabilia.
“We had some fantastic attractions – we had 86 stalls which was up on last year – there was a lot more going on.
“For the second time we had Jones’ Butchers’ Van used in the television series Dad’s Army with people dressed up as characters – which went down very well,” add Jayne.
For the first time at the weekend crowds were wowed by a re-enactment of a battle during the Second World War.
Two hundred actors took the roles of allied forces and German soldiers who were joined by aerobatic displays from Richard Grace in a Spitfire and Nigel Wilson in a Yak 52.
“The display was fantastic and the re-enactment went down very well – it is something that we will look at doing next year.”
