GAP Home Improvements, which had moved its showroom to Bedford, was broken into on July 19, with two of its vans attacked and conservatory windows smashed.

Jon Goodchild, sales manager, said: “We won’t let it put a spanner in the works. We are defiant and are not going to feel sorry for ourselves.”

He even said one internal wall three metres behind a smashed window had been hit by a brick.

Police say nothing is believed to have been stolen from the company, which is located at Roxton Garden Centre in Bedford Road.

A spokesman added the incident probably took place between 5pm on July 19 and 7am the following day, and that anyone with information, or who witnessed suspicious activity in the area, should call 101 quoting reference JH/28884/2016.
