A cash machine outside a Spar store in St Neots has been reported stolen, after a JCB ripped it from a wall earlier this morning (Thursday).

Cambridgeshire police were called to the incident in Steeple Court, Cambridge Street, at 2.36am.

A spokesman said: “The ATM was loaded onto what is believed to be a white pick-up truck which left the scene and headed towards Cromwell Road alongside a dark saloon car.

“It is believed approximately £25,000 was stolen and significant damage was caused to the building.”

Details are still emerging, but anyone with information should call police on 101, anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555111, or online at www.crimestoppers.uk.org.
