Health and fitness for the over-55s was the programme of the evening for July's meeting. Much to the amusement of the group, Lynne Ward, of LA Fitness, attempted to teach six members two simple line dances which proved that exercise can be fun, and just because you have reached your prime time doesn't mean you have to give up exercise.

The tombola stall at St Ives Carnival proved once more to be an excellent fundraiser. The president, Julia Midgley, thanked members for their generosity in providing bottles and help on the day.

The competition, The Best Rose, was won by Margaret Sunderland, and the raffle by Diana Higgins.

The next meeting will be on September 12 at Thorndown School at 7.30pm.

Visitors are welcome.
