The service allows customers to order their shop online before driving to a collection point, based in a temperature-controlled unit in the Barford Road stores car park, where it is packed into their boot. To promote the launch, Tesco has asked St Neots primary schoolchildren to design artwork for a special bag to be used at the click and collect service, which costs £2 and is added to the bill. Store manager Matt Rose said: We are very excited to be able to offer this new service to our customers. I speak to them every day about their shopping experience and this new drive-through will now offer even more choice in how they buy their shopping. Customers who are stretched for time can buy the same products at the same prices without having to leave the car. Ian Crook, Tesco.com marketing director, believes the service is ideal for young professionals and parents. He said: We believe this will be especially popular with busy mums who have the school run and childrens activities to manage. It offers a convenient solution to parents who want to avoid the challenge of shopping in a busy store with children in tow but cant afford the time to say in for the shopping to arrive at their door.
