A teenager from Hartford raised much needed funds for the Macmillan Woodlands Centre in memory of her grandmother.

With help from her friends, Amy Scott, 19, completed a sponsored walk last year to raise money for the centre that helped her nan, Stephanie Wilderspin, who died in June.

Amy's granddad Eric Wilderspin, of The Grove, Hartford said: “I was elated when Amy told me she wanted to raise the money in recognition of Stephanie. I was extremely proud when she completed it.

“As she is the youngest grandchild I couldn't believe that she wanted to raise money off of her own initiative.”

In total £1045.84 was raised through Amy's sponsored events and other funds were donated by friends and family at Mrs Wilderspin's funeral.
